Mullis Wins By Landslide Margin
State Sen. Jeff Mullis (R – Chickamauga) was victorious in the recent primary election on May 20; winning the Republican ballot for the District 53 seat by the highest percentage to date. Sen. Mullis was first elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2000 and is pursuing his eighth two-year term in the November 2014 general election.
“Votes should always be merit-based and never be taken for granted. I am humbles by the overwhelming support I received in last week’s primary, and I will continue to work diligently for the votes I have yet to earn.” said Sen. Mullis.
Sen. Mullis has been recognized several times as one of Georgia Trend magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in Georgia,” and by James magazine as one of the “Most Influential Political Leaders in Georgia.” He is also the recipient of numerous legislative service awards, including the Zell Miller Public Policy Leadership Award, the Georgia Municipal Association’s Champion of Georgia Cities Award (four time winner) and the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia’s Legislative Service Award (four time winner).
Sen. Mullis was born and raised in Chickamauga and currently serves as an Economic Developer in Northwest Georgia. He is married to Teresa Nichols of Dade County and has three children. He is also a member of the Chickamauga First Baptist Church.
