Senator Jeff Mullis represents the 53rd district, which includes Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, and Walker Counties. He serves as Chairman of the powerful Senate Rules Committee and is a member of the Senate Appropriations, Economic Development and Tourism, and Regulated Industries and Utilities Committees. Senator Mullis also chairs the Senate Music Committee and the Halls of Fame Joint Committee, and was appointed by Governor Deal and reappointed by Governor Kemp to the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Advisory Commission. Lastly, he is the Chairman Emeritus of the Sportsman Caucus, whose mission is to promote and protect hunting, fishing and the 2nd Amendment.
Senator Mullis has been recognized by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of the “100 Most Influential People in Georgia” for ten consecutive years for his work on several issues, including transportation and economic development. His ninth recognition and honor made Senator Mullis the legislator with the most honors in consecutive years in history. Also, James Magazine listed Senator Mullis as one of the “Most Influential Political Leaders in Georgia” for eight consecutive years. Senator Mullis was born and raised in Chickamauga, Georgia, and is proud Republican Party member. Along with serving the constituents in his community, Senator Mullis serves as an Economic Developer for Northwest Georgia. He is active member of his community. His affiliations include Fort Oglethorpe Kiwanis Club, Chickamauga Lions Club, Georgia Historic Society, Georgia Music Hall of Fame – Co-Chair, and is a member of the Chickamauga First Baptist Church.
